Growing up in Bøfjorden, Norway, as the daughter of an organist, Sigrid had music in her life from the very beginning. She always wanted to join her father’s choir as a child, and was allowed to do so in 1998, when she was nine years old.

Singing became a significant part of her youth, but was never a plan for her profession until she applied to the musicology

programme in NTNU, Trondheim, when she was 19. The year after, Sigrid applied to the Bachelor's programme in classical singing at the same school, and was accepted. Four years under Elisabeth Meyer-Topsøe and Kåre Bjørkøy’s teaching went by, and Sigrid left Trondheim with the highest results, heading for the Opera College of Stockholm in 2014. Since then, Sigrid has been studying with Anita Soldh as her teacher, and she made her debut at the Swedish Royal Opera House in 2016 as Erste Dame in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte.

In school productions in Stockholm, Sigrid has played the roles of Mimì in La bohème, Violetta in La traviata, Nedda in Pagliacci and Clorinda in La cenerentola. In 2015 and 2016, Sigrid was a soloist with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, and in 2016, Sigrid played the role of Fingallo at Vadstena Opera Academy’s performances of Comala.

Sigrid has also received several scholarships and awards, including Shell’s Musical Theatre Award of 2014, Tom Wilhelmsen’s scholarship of 2014, Anders Sveaas’ Foundation’s scholarship of 2014 and 2015, Royal Swedish Academy of Music scholarships of 2015 and 2016, Märta Christina and Magnus Vahlquist’s scholarship of 2016 and Anders Wall’s travel scholarship of 2017.

In the summer of 2017, Sigrid won the 2nd prize in the "Havets röst" song competition and had the pleasure of returning to the Swedish Royal Opera House for another production of Die Zauberflöte as Erste Dame.
In 2018, Sigrid moved to Berlin and is now working as a freelancer. In the summer of 2019 she will be one of three singers representing Norway in the Queen Sonja International Music Competition.
